Steve Farrelly was a retired policeman with a simple question: “How can I help?”
That question grew into a 15+ year journey of transforming lives in Glen Innes. Steve built networks, secured resources, and created opportunities for children who needed them most. From uniforms and sports gear to mentoring and food support, his initiatives lifted school attendance and gave tamariki the chance to thrive.
When Steve passed unexpectedly in January 2025, we were heartbroken — but not deterred. In July 2025, the Steve Farrelly Foundation was launched to carry his work forward.

We exist to remove barriers to learning and create opportunities for every child in Glen Innes to grow, thrive, and succeed.
one-on-one help and early reading programmes for children starting school with little or no preschool experience.
community-led approaches that reduce truancy and celebrate showing up every day.
uniforms, hygiene products, mentoring, food, and the basics every child needs to belong.
Every dollar raised goes directly to Glen Innes children and families who need it most. By saying yes, you’re not just giving - you’re helping build a future Steve would be proud of.
